Let's talk about Obsession. As I knew it would be, it was fantastic. More importantly for independent film, it has been a commercial success. The movie was made for about $1 million, and it has already grossed more than $400 million worldwide. An incredible triumph. While making art for the sake of art is important, it's also a huge win for the independent film community to see a movie made for so little to reach so many screens and eyeballs. Obsession deserves its success. I

I’m expecting a dozen people or so will roll their eyes when they see this headline. The same dozen people that I keep texting to tell them to listen to the podcast Beth’s Dead . If you spend any time on True Crime Reddit, you’ll see that Beth’s Dead has a lot of haters. And I do understand some of the criticism. The person who told me to listen to the show is someone with perfect taste. And she described it as a “good podcast to put on while cleaning the house.” If that pers
