This week's episode explores the history of The Kraken. The Kraken is a mythical creature that is known to lurk off the coasts of Greenland and Norway. The Kraken is often depicted as a gigantic tentacled sea monster. It's notorious for creating whirlpools to sink ships, or using it's terrifying tentacles to steal sailors away for a snack.

There is so much unknown about the world's oceans, even to this day. It's no surprise that sailors and sea-goers from thousands of years ago sought to explain away tragedy by developing these robust monster myths. It's also likely that encounters with whales, washed up giant squid bodies and other natural events play into these stories.

Listen in as we deep dive into the haunting accounts of The Kraken throughout history.
